Stacy is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and has extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and couples, as well as specialized training in the emotional issues associated with infertility, childbirth, prenatal, and postpartum depression, parenting, and alternative family building.

She has also worked for many years with teens and their families, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She received her master’s degree from JFK University, doing advanced clinical training in therapeutic methods at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis, and in Expressive Arts therapy at the Tamalpa Institute.

Stacy is certified as an Iyengar Yoga instructor and has taught Yoga and meditation for over 20 years. Her psychotherapy practice is also informed by her experiences as a spouse, a mother, and longtime meditator.

Not only did Stacy Smith guide the group as a wise sage, she helped each of us as individuals to uncover unknown parts of ourselves through art, movement, and writing. Her leadership was extremely skillful, gentle and insightful.
