Chris Wiley, MSW, ASW

Licensed Associate Social Worker (ASW 70771)

Before moving into private practice, Chris provided counseling in diverse settings, such as Bay Area Community Services, to people facing highly adverse situations, and to people in crisis. As Lead Clinician at Fremont Hospital’s psychiatric unit, he worked with patients and their families to overcome the challenges of severe mental illness, and trauma, and was responsible for auditing the work of other clinicians. He held similar positions at Sutter Health, where he worked with patients and families facing a terminal illness and end-of-life. He bases his work on humanistic, client-centered psychotherapy, often using cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused approaches. Chris has had a special interest over many years in men’s psychology.

Chris was drawn to therapy through early experiences working with youth in group homes. Following his early start, Chris has continued his career serving the community. He believes in the success and positive change one can accomplish with guidance and support from another. Chris’s personal engagement in therapy has further solidified his desire to work with others in need. Chris is a licensed Associate Social Worker, # ASW 70771, and is supervised by Yael Stiles, LCSW.
